Starboard

The starboard automatically reposts messages that receive enough star reactions to a dedicated channel.

  1. Set the starboard channel:

    /starboard channel #starboard
  2. (Optional) Adjust the threshold:

    /starboard threshold 3
  3. The starboard is now active. When a message gets 3+ star reactions, it appears in #starboard.

/starboard channel <channel>

Set where starred messages are posted.

/starboard threshold <count>

Minimum stars required (1-25). Default is 3.

/starboard emoji <emoji>

Change the star emoji. Default is ⭐. You can use any emoji, including custom server emojis.

/starboard selfstar <true|false>

Allow users to star their own messages. Default is false.

/starboard toggle

Enable or disable the starboard without changing settings.

Prevent messages from certain channels from appearing on the starboard:

/starboard ignore <channel> add # Ignore a channel
/starboard ignore <channel> remove # Unignore a channel

Common channels to ignore:

  • NSFW channels
  • Bot command channels
  • Staff channels
/starboard config

Shows:

  • Enabled/disabled status
  • Current channel
  • Star emoji
  • Threshold
  • Self-star setting
  • Ignored channels
/starboard stats

Shows:

  • Total starred messages
  • Total stars given
  • Top starred users (leaderboard)
/starboard stats user:@someone

Shows how many messages a user has had starred and their total stars.

  1. A user reacts with the star emoji on a message

  2. When reactions reach the threshold, the message is posted to starboard

  3. The starboard post includes:

    • Original message content
    • Author info
    • Star count
    • Jump link to original
    • Attachments/embeds
  4. If more stars are added, the starboard post updates with the new count

  • Set a reasonable threshold - Too low (1-2) floods the starboard, too high (10+) makes it exclusive
  • Use a unique emoji - Consider a custom server emoji to make your starboard special
  • Ignore bot channels - Prevent bot messages from being starred
  • Disable self-star - Prevents users from starring their own messages for more authentic highlights
